My mentor is awesome

Dedicated to Jill Weber

My mentor is one with beauty so rare,
A tender heart, so pure love, and an ear that's always there.

Her smile gives me chills, and her eyes I cannot bare.
The sound of her sweet voice draws me to be forever there.

Her songs a sweet incense to the one whom she loves,
And her voice as she sings them is like an angel from above.

Her obedience to the Father I thank God for everyday.
For without this I know not where my faith would rest today.

I owe so much to her, for she is faithful to this day.
And in all this there's but one thing I withheld but desire to say

"My mentor is awesome, sent from God above,
My future I owe her, but I give her my love."

What the heck is wrong with me
A soiled dove is all I see
These stains I wear
It's only fair

These walls I've built to keep me safe
To hide the past I cannot face
Don't let them close

This is a burden I'll gladly bare
To hide the mark that I wear
I must handle
